How to become a teacher

To obtain teaching certification, you must:

Most courses at colleges take four years to complete. A bachelor's degree in education offers general liberal arts studies as well as career-specific material. In addition to your teaching education courses, you will be required to do student teaching. The top paying areas for elementary teachers were Alaska, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia.
