It is common, however, for employers to require you to have at least a bachelor's degree in computer programming to gain entry-level positions in the field. Because of this, most two-year degrees can be transferred to four-year colleges and universities that offer bachelor's degree programs in computer programming. These programs focus on programming methods for collecting, organizing, processing and disseminating information. Certificate programs in computer programming are also often available. These are usually for people who already have a bachelor's degree in a related field or who have professional computer experience. In addition, several colleges offer graduate degrees in computer programming. Typically these take two to five years after you finish your bachelor's degree. Most people with graduate degrees in computer programming become high-level administrators or professors. As a graduate of one of any of these programs you will have a broad base of knowledge in computer languages that will enable you to apply in business activities.
