Carlisle, Pa., Colleges and Universities

Though Carlisle, Pa., is not typically thought of as a college town, it sure might seem like one. This town of about 20,000 people has three colleges and a plethora of jobs for students when they graduate.

Your Education with one of the Carlisle Colleges

Dickinson College is located in Carlisle. A private liberal arts school of 2,300 students, Dickinson College offers bachelor's degrees in 22 disciplinary majors, 20 interdisciplinary majors and more than 80 subjects ranging from biology to modern Greek. The school offers over 40 study abroad programs. Tuition costs $43,000 a year for the 2011-12 academic year.

There are two other colleges in Carlisle: Penn State University Dickinson School of Law and the U.S. Army War College. At Penn State Law, students can choose from different types of law degrees, as well as pursue specialized subjects such as business law and energy law. Tuition costs $37,000 a year. At the U.S. Army War College, students take several different leadership and defense courses. It's the Army's most senior military educational institution.
