This municipality of approximately 35,000 people offers students and residents alike the best of both worlds: accessibility to big-city life without the high costs and hassles that often attend it.

Norristown's proximity to Philadelphia puts its students just minutes away from one the largest cities in the country, a place teeming with dozens of excellent colleges and universities. An Ivy League college and the fourth-oldest institution of higher learning in the U.S., the University of Pennsylvania is a medium-sized private school that offers unique majors, a high degree of academic flexibility and some of the best research facilities around. This school of 14,000 features both certificate and associate degree programs at a very manageable cost of just $3,800 in tuition and fees.
