Located just 11 miles outside of Nashville, Antioch offers a vast array of nearby colleges and universities to choose from, coupled with the culture and excitement of Music City living. The region also has a strong economy with thousands of businesses for college graduates to consider, whether you're into the music scene or anything else.

Antioch Colleges

If you're considering college in Antioch, you won't have to go far for a wide array of choices. Antioch is only a few minutes away from Nashville, home to several colleges and universities. Belmont University is one of the country's fastest growing Christian universities - enrollment has more than doubled over the last decade from about 3,000 in 2000 to 6,400 this year. Vanderbilt University in Nashville has about 13,000 students, a wide variety of degree programs and a price tag of about $40,000 a year for undergraduates. Tennessee State University is another Nashville college. It offers 77 majors in eight colleges and schools for its 7,100 undergrads and 2,000 graduate students. Nashville is also home to American Baptist College, Watkins College of Art, Design & Film, the University of Phoenix's Nashville Campus, Remington College and many others.

Antioch Economy

Antioch is located in Davidson County, where there are more than 64,000 businesses and 85 percent of residents have a high school diploma. About 34 percent of Davidson County's residents have earned a bachelor's degree or higher (better than that national average). The job market is better than average in Nashville-Davidson, where the unemployment rate is 7.2 percent compared to a national unemployment rate of 8.3 percent.
