Located a few hours away from Pittsburgh, Pa., and Cleveland, Ohio, East Liverpool is a small community with nearly 12,000 residents. Despite its small size, you can find colleges and universities in the area to help you achieve your educational goals whether they're right in your own back yard or beyond.

Liverpool, Ohio Colleges and Universities

Kent State University in Kent, Ohio has a campus branch in East Liverpool that awards 10 associate degrees in fields like accounting technology, nursing and physical therapy. Many of these programs can lead to a four-year degree at the main campus. The college also awards six bachelor's degrees in numerous areas such as English, general studies and psychology. If you seek an education that is more vocationally based, then take a look at the Ohio Valley College of Technology in East Liverpool. Associate degree programs offered are: medical assistant, network and software solutions, medical office administration, business administration, dental assistant and nursing.

The suburban 105-acre campus of Penn State Beaver County is 14 miles from East Liverpool across the border in Pennsylvania. The university offers five bachelor degree programs as well as associate degrees in business administration, information sciences and technology, and letters, arts and sciences. Price is an important factor when applying to college. Ohio's average in-state tuition and fees for two-year public schools were $3,608; for four-year public schools, $8,904; and for private four-year schools, $28,376, according to The College Board.
